Description
Built with experience and innovation, the LikoGuard L & XL overhead lift combines powerful performance and enhanced safety design features, honouring the safe patient handling heritage of the Liko/HillRom brand.
New SlingGuard spreader bar
LikoGuard features include a newly-designed 450 SlingGuard sling bar that encourages the correct placement of sling loops for greater confidence in safe patient mobilisation, as well as a patented emergency stop and lowering mechanism.
New improved design
Additional features include a new lightweight lithium-ion environmentally-friendly battery, new hand controls and an upgraded safe working load than previous models of 272kg for the LikoGuard L and 363kg for the LikoGuard XL.
Conducting a lift with a Liko overhead hoist
Fitting a ceiling track hoist
A ceiling track hoist is usually fitted directly onto a ceiling above the area required. If a ceiling cannot support the user’s weight, then the weight can be transferred down the walls into the floor by using particular support legs fitted flat against the walls. The complete system comprises the rail and the cassette (the hoist itself).
It’s always ready
Ceiling track hoists are generally wired into the mains electricity supply and are constantly charged, so they are ready to use any time of the day or night
Room to room transfers
We can install a ceiling track hoist covering multiple rooms with clever junction plates and track selectors. Some hoists can also be linked to separate tracks which can be used with transfer straps, which allow track switching.
What are the main differences between mobile hoists and overhead hoists?
Floor space in a patient room or other care environment is always at a premium.
Overhead patient lifts require no space on the floor, whereas mobile lifts require a “footprint” of space, and must be maneuvered around other devices or furniture, carpets if fitted can impede the free movement of a mobile hoist and make movement difficult.
Mobile hoists also require regular charging to ensure that they are able to conduct transfers. Fitted overhead hoists are constantly powered and can be used whenever required. However mobile lifts can be moved from room to room, providing the freedom to serve several patients in a facility.
Removal
If you need to remove or relocate a ceiling track hoist they can be removed easily and all that is left are a few mounting holes that can be quickly filled and painted over.
